CAMICO implements an enhanced operating structure to provide even greater capacity, options, flexibility and benefits to our CPA policyholders. This enhanced structure consists of two main components: (1) CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company, which has been insuring CPAs with Professional Liability Insurance since 1986, and continues in that role; and (2) CAMICO Insurance Services, (CAMICO Mutual Insurance Company's insurance agency and wholly owned subsidiary) which utilizes strategic partnerships to provide CPAs with insurance product offerings and solutions such as Employment Practices Liability, Business Owners Package, Personal Umbrella Workers' Compensation, and our core business Professional Liability Insurance.

2000 – 2005
CAMICO receives endorsements from the Indiana CPA Society, Missouri Society of CPAs, Tennessee Society of CPAs, New York State Society of CPAs and Mississippi Society of CPAs
CAMICO launches its first Member Site. It houses risk management information such as sample engagement letters, war stories, IMPACT articles and claims stats.
CAMICO teams up with a provider of e-learning solutions to provide policyholders with free online CPE through webcasts and online self-study courses.
In the early 1980s, CPAs were faced with mounting liability insurance crisis. The major insurance carriers found themselves with insufficient funds to cover their claims. Many withdrew from the market, leaving their policyholders without insurance, while others imposed huge premium increases that made coverage unaffordable for many accountants. In response to the crisis, the California Society of CPAs convened a task force, which recommended the creation of a company that would operate solely for the benefits of its members.
One June 24 1986, CAMICO opened its doors for business with two full-time employees reporting to the President. Within a month, 1,250 CPA members joined.
